Hoover carpet cleaners were where vacuum cleaners began. A guy called Murray Spangler invented them just after the turn of the twentieth century. He was a janitor and it so happen an inventor as well. He needed something that would eliminate the dust as when cleaning the dust would set off his asthma off. Can you believe the first of these invented was a simple fan and a broom handle? The results were great - as he cleaned the dust was sucked up.
He asked a friend to take a look at his new invention - she was the wife of the owner of a small leather workshop. She was impressed and so was her husband. Her husbands name was Boss Hoover. Mr. Hoover saw the potential and bought the patent. He was loyal to Spangler and kept him on as a consultant. Mr. Hoover was excellent at marketing the product and of course it helped that he had a much sought after and great product to market. Housewives loved the new invention. Hence the start of the hoover carpet cleaners.
I am sure all us women will be grateful that we ourselves do not have to resort to a broom handle with an attached fan. However, if looking for a company that has been around from the beginning - the Hoover carpet cleaners are the one to look at.
